Bishop’s Weekly One-liners Vol. 6

Whether an action or a thought, distractions can lead us down paths we never intended on. Much like parasites, they drain us of our focus, leaving us feeling powerless against them. However, these microscopic organisms also require a host to gain nutrients, without one they cannot survive.

Consider distractions in the same way. Without a host, distractions have no power. How much power do you give those things that come as a distraction for you?

Bishop says:

Your distraction will NEVER be a distraction unless it’s powerful.

If you’re ever going to have victory; you have to say NO to what you want.

Running after what has been banned will kill you.

They’re Back! Bishop’s Weekly One-liners Vol. 5

09 Tuesday Oct 2012

After a few weeks of “Daily Moments”, Bishop Wright’s Weekly One-Liners are back! Check this week’s out below:

Did you ever play the “Blindfold Trust Walk” as a kid? The game started with you blindfolded, then guided through a series of obstacles merely by the sound of your partner’s voice. It required you to listen intently and trust your partner’s directions, your safety depended on it. Making one wrong move out of fear of the unknown could mean the end of the game.

The childhood game mirrors the way must trust God. Though we cannot see Him and are unsure of what is in store, it would “be mo’ betta” if kept our ears open wide for His instructions. We often drown out His voice with our own insecurities, doubts, and fears before ever silencing the negative voices that attempt to confuse us.

2 Samuel 22:31 reminds us that, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him” (NIV). Close your eyes as you did when you were a child, let go of the inhibitions that have kept you dormant and trust in the Lord. He will NEVER lead you astray.

Bishop Says:

You have to trust God when you don’t know where He is leading you.

Faith stands in the midst of nothing and say I don’t see a way but I trust you. The God I serve makes peace.

Unbelief will get in the way of what God wants to do for your life.

When you walk in unbelief you walk in the mercies of God.

To go along with this week’s one-liners, check out and add this song to your worship playlist!

“Just take my hand/ And I’ll follow You/ For all that I am/ And all that I do, it’s for You ” – The Appeal by Kirk Franklin
