Last week I shared a story with my local congregation that I would like to share with you today. So my son came home from the driving range in our community where we live. I could immediately tell that something was bothering him so I asked him, “What is the matter?” He replied, “While walking home from the driving range, the lady who lives across the street stopped me and told me not to walk across her grass anymore.” Now the problem that I have with this is, she lives on the end house, which by the way is on the golf course, so her “yard” is actually community property. So to make a long story short, I walked my son back across the street, and my neighbor and I had a conversation. The final result; problem solved.
Now as silly as my little story may appear to be, there is a bigger picture to see.
The bible gives us many examples on how to deal with problems that are bigger than we are, but there are three that I would like to point out. They are as follows:
- Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. (Ps. 55:22)
- Come to me (Jesus), all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:30)
- Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Pet. 5:6-7)
People of God, what I am trying to say is that when you face problems that are bigger than you
GO TELL YOUR DADDY! Stop allowing life to chastise you when you have a mediator and his name is Jesus. He will and already has fought for you. If God is for us who can be against us…for who shall bring any charge against God’s elect…Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God and is interceding for us (Rom. 8:31-34). People God does not let one incident take away your peace. Take a deep breath; get yourself together and GO TELL YOUR DADDY!
