Do Not Judge Your Walk By What Someone Else is Doing

20 Thursday Dec 2012

When Jesus and Peter were talking, Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. Peter asks Jesus a question: “Lord, what about this man? (Jn 21:21)” Now Jesus has just restored Peter to ministry after he had denied him three times and all Peter could think to ask was, “What about this man?” Peter represents so many in the body of Christ.  The Lord desires to have intimate conversations with us regarding our purpose in life and we waist time wondering about someone else.  Jesus responds, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!
In other words, mind your own business! (1 Th 4:11).  In parking lots, lunch rooms, facebook, etc., we spend too much time conversing about the welfare of others.  So what can we learn from this text?

1)     Jesus specifically has an assignment just for you (find out what it is).

2)     What the Lord wills for others, isn’t your business.

 3)     Follow him!…That’s all the other disciple was doing anyway.

Bishop Donald A. Wright’s Throwback Thursday

13 Thursday Dec 2012

The Throwback Thursday’s clip of the week is a recap from Kingdom Life Ministries, where Pastor James Rowson is the Senior Pastor.

Earlier this week I mentioned how it is our responsibility to choose to mature…to choose to move past where we are to become a vessel the Father can use. In this clip, I tackle a strong subject that most of us would prefer to push to the back of our mind. What is it? So glad you asked! Are you ready? How long do we plan on carrying the dead stuff in our life that God is through with? Why are you still toting it around? If I recall correctly there is a verse of Scripture where we find the Lord speaking to the Prophet Samuel after the death of Saul and he’s asking him, “How long will thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill thine horn with oil, and go…” (1Sam16:1) What are you holding hostage in your life that God wants you to release? Your past? Haunted memories? A broken marriage? Let’s go a little further and see what the Lord has for us…Enjoy!

How Long Are You Going to Be in This Grade?

but TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!, There may come a day that I quit

Do you remember when you were in elementary or high school and there was that one kid that seemed older than everyone else? You know the one that nobody really knew how old he was.  I hope that was not any of you.  If it was, thank God you made it!  But on to a more serious note, this is the problem the writer of Hebrews had.  Note the text, “Though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the “elementary” truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! (Heb 5:12).” The writer continues to say, “Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity….”  This is the essence of the text… maturity.  Like the kid who could not transition to the next grade, Christians sometimes cannot transition to maturity.   To stay in the same grade or remain in the elementary teachings about Christ is synonymous with not maturing.  The writer says, “Let us leave” which seems to suggest we can mature whenever we choose.   So let us ask ourselves the hard question; How long am I gonna be in this grade?  The question is rhetorical, however the answer is going to be determined by our actions.  So let us “leave” the elementary (this grade) and move on to maturity. ….

Throwback Thursdays – Clip of the Week

07 Friday Dec 2012

The Throwback Thursday’s clip of the week is a recap from Holy Convocation 2012 at the Temple of Praise, where Bishop Glen Staples is the Senior Pastor. Let’s dive right in!

Have you ever heard or walked up on a conversation between two believers and heard words such as: Repentance, anointing, deliverance, and favor? What do these words really mean? Sometimes the Body of Christ has a tendency to speak in, “spiritual” code without ever explaining, in basic terms, what it is we are trying to convey. During this brief clip I make a sincere attempt to tackle one of these four words…Favor. What is favor? How is it achieved? What do you do once you have it? And can favor and fear both be present in a single assignment? I invite you to open your heart and join me as we embark on what it means to be favored of God! It is my prayer that this seven minute clip will provide insight on where you are and/or re-ignite a desire to delve deeper into the things of God. Be Blessed & Enjoy!

Bishop’s Weekly One-liner

05 Wednesday Dec 2012

QUOTE – You are about to be blessed for your suffering.

The word “suffer” is often viewed as a negative word.  Mainly due to the word often being partnered with a negative experience, i.e., pain, loss, or some other unpleasant thing.  If the unpleasant thing is removed, what is left is a word that simply means to endure or experience. Now that  doesn’t sound so bad!

Luke records Jesus talking to the men on the road to Emmaus saying, “That it was necessary for Christ to suffer in order to enter into His Glory.” Likewise the Apostle Paul writes, “If indeed we suffer with Him so that we may be also glorified with Him.” If you are suffering or having an experience just hold on, You are about to be blessed for your suffering!
